About Darling Doodles

I am often asked how and why I got into breeding my Irish Doodle Puppies. The best answer I can give is "Eric".

Growing up, we had an Irish Setter named Eric. He was the best dog ever. He was well-mannered, loved to play and was absolutely one of the gang with me and my two brothers - and we were rough and tumble kids. Eric didn't care - he let us hang all over him. He never bothered anyone or barked and was just a phenomenal dog. He made my childhood special and I have often thought over the years that everyone should have an Eric.

Now, as an adult, I have 2 boys of my own (6 and 8 years old) and 2 special-needs foster boys. So we always have a lot of kids here at the house. I wanted to give the boys a loving companion like Eric, and I also thought that maybe they could learn a bit of responsibility by helping out with a dog breeding business. So the idea was born.

I spent a good amount of time researching dogs to get the best fit for our family. Although shedding was a concern, allergies was the primary concern because my youngest son and I have allergies. I also needed dogs that had a great temperament and tolerance for children.

I first found Goldendoodles, which seemed to fit the bill, but when I discovered the Irish Doodles, I knew immediately that I had found the right breed. I have taken great care to purchase my dogs with champion lineage and service dog experience, and hope to train some of them as service dogs myself in the coming years.

I am delighted to raise and offer my mini Irish Doodles so that you and your family can enjoy these wonderful dogs as much as we do.
